AMERICAN GRAFFITI
3-04-08
Thanks for the page! I sent you over a short history of who I am. A funny thing? I saw the page on Ernie. I failed to mention that My factory was from 1980 to 1994 in the same complex as his factory, he had two shops on Oxnard Bl, and I was in the back of the complex. He was way-gone by the time I moved in. The owner of the buildings "SAM GREENBURG" whence said to Me; Are You going to make those surfboard things, I replied "Yep" Sam" You don't gamble or bet on the horses do You! I said nope! Good! because that other guy "Tanaka" could never pay on time because He would always loose His Money at the races!

When I was a kid, We would go to car cruse night on Van Nuys bl, and stop by Ernie's to oogle the boards. The stretch of buildings there on Oxnard bl was known as Hot Rod Row, at one end was Bob Bonds, one of the greatest auto pin stripers, right up there with Big Daddy Roth, and at the other end was where Don Garlet built the dragster "Color Me Gone". This was where the movie American Graffiti was based upon.

I'll see how much trouble I want to get in with this page You set up for Me. It's not like I have a lot of Friends now! ---TP
SACRED CRAFT SHAPE OFF

3-02-08
Funny! I ran into Malcolm the other day at Fiberglass Hawaii as we passed, I asked why He wasn't at the sacred craft shape off; because His name was on the list to represent Ventura. I will take a wild guess? a lot of shapers were asked, and a lot of shapers backed out fearing that they would have been exposed to there public for what they weren't all that thy say they are. And the chance of losing a good thing as they have it now.

The surfing industry is a paper tiger! Where else can you just tell the public how great You are, and no one ever makes YOU prove it!!!!! I can make this statement because I was invited as
an under dog, only after "Scott Anderson" "Matt Calvani" "Tyler" turned it down."HELL" I voted for Phil Becker to show up, He would have blown all of US out of the water but Phil retired, well earned. The DUDE!

>I did good! beating out Tarry Martin. Jim Philips and Mr Ray. But I don't look down on those Guys, all "REAL" great shapers, all the real Thing! If this was the 60's, it would be said that thy have "BALLS" to put it out there, on the line. The rest of those other Guys that PUSSED out, I felt that thy must have something to hide from the light of day! If You want to put this on line!
Go for it! I have never backed down from a fight when I knew that I was right!

Enough of this politically incorrect shit! Nobody wins, Nobody loses. When did surfers become such "pussys"? I know Girls that have more balls than some of these guys! ---TP

BLANKS FOR SALE

2-28-08
Michael; I was wondering if You know anybody that would like to buy "real Clark Foam blanks.
I have about 100 of them, from 67R's to 72R's. as you have heard things are getting tough for this industry! All of My business was built to order "Hand Shapes" to date 50154 now 40 years.
there doesn't seem to be any more soul left around any more.

A shop owner yesterday told Me that there wasn't any difference between hand made and boards coming out of China, or off a computer, then as what I do... it's funny that the big Guys market the fact that a surfboard has to have a history, and a real shaper connection to the brand name, "but' dismisses that any one has to really be there or really put in the dues to be a real shaper.

A well known surfboard shop owner I once asked why he called his surfboards IG, ignorant! He said because all surfers are ignorant, I said 'So are you calling all the people that ride your boards, your calling stupid!' He replied: 'aren't thy!'- he must have it right, He's a successful shop owner now.

T he Sacred Craft ain't so sacred any more... another time, another place. ---TP
